Kirklees population increases by 1,900 to 437,100 (2017)

The latest estimate (2017) for the population of Kirklees shows 437,100 people, an increase of approximately 1,900 compared to 2016. Links to the latest estimates are shown below. The increase in population from 2016 to 2017 is due to:

Natural change (excess of births over deaths) +1,507
International migration (net) +1,354
Internal migration (net) -935
Other -17

Estimates for 2012-2016 were revised and re-issued 22 March 2018. In Kirklees the 2016 population estimate was reduced by around 1,800 as a result of the changes in methodology (see the ONS Website for more details).
