    2026 Wards

    Kirklees electoral wards were reviewed and finalised December 2024 by the Boundary Commission, and first used in the May 2026 local elections. Eight wards underwent no changes: Almondbury, Ashbrow, Batley East, Cleckheaton, Denby Dale, Dewsbury East, Holme Valley North and Holme Valley South.     House price data added to Overview Profiles to replace ONS data which has been discontinued. The data is sourced from HM Land Registry (price paid) and the latest year is currently 2024.     New 2022 Kirklees sub-national population projections were published 09/10/2025. The Kirklees population is projected to rise from 437,800 in 2022 to 473,000 in 2047, a rise of 35,200 or 4%.

    New 2024 Kirklees local authority population estimates published

    11 August 2025

    Latest population estimates for Kirklees were published on 30/07/2025 by the Office for National Statistics, 2022 and 2023 estimates were also revised and re-issued at the same time.     Rebased population estimates for Kirklees Wards were published on 25/11/2024 by the Office for National Statistics. The estimates cover the period 2011 to 2020. The ward estimates for Mid-2022 were also revised and released on 25/11/2024.     Latest population estimates for Kirklees Wards were published on 20/06/2024 by the Office for National Statistics. The estimates cover the period 2021 to 2022 and revised ward estimates for 2011 to 2020 are expected in Autumn 2024.

    Dwellings in Kirklees
